The RGCQ’s upcoming conference about co-ownership building upkeep and maintenance

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, the Regroupement des gestionnaires et copropriétaires du Québec (RGCQ) will welcome you to its upcoming conference that will be held at the Club de golf Le parcours du cerf in Longueuil.

The central theme of this spring edition will focus on co-ownership building upkeep and maintenance. Several speakers are invited to talk about the topic. These meetings aim to make co-ownership syndicates benefit from speakers’ in-depth knowledge. This way, they will be able to provide better service to co-owners and ensure the value of the building they manage.

The President of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) - Mr. Stéphane Labrie - will kick off the conference with a keynote address. He will then look at the obligations of syndicates and co-owners in light of the Building chapter from the Safety Code (BCSC), which has been effective since March 18, 2013.

Later, emeritus lawyer Yves Joli-Cœur will explain reserve fund studies and how they are implemented. In turn, architect Jean-François Lavigne and engineer Robert Raymond will show the protocol to follow to make sure any major work made in a co-ownership property is adequately managed.

Lastly, a working group on the reserve fund will talk about the implementation of a standard protocol in the development of reserve fund studies to achieve the RGCQ’s excellence standard. The day will conclude with a round-table discussion.

If you are an administrator of a co-ownership syndicate, you may find a great deal of information relevant to your job at the conference. It is also a great opportunity to develop a network of contacts who work in the same field as you.
